What Are Modules & Units?

The Lesson Yard is a collection of Modules, and in each module there is a collection of Units. These Modules and Units cover a wide range of topics, and sciences, all relating to Islaam, and all structured to support one another. So for example, there are units in fiqh that require the student to have completed modules of Arabic, and those modules of Arabic require other modules and so on. This ‘Chain’ or ‘Tree’ structure is necessary to build a strong and cohesive structure in seeking knowledge. This structure is also necessary in order to cover a larger subject area by covering essential topics in their necessary units and modules and not clumping them all together.

Does Everyone Have To Follow This Structure?

All students will have to follow this structure in order to achieve their desired goals. However, not every module or unit has to be studied. If someone wanted to specialise in tafseer, all they would need to study would be the Qur’aan modules and the other necessary modules and units connected to the science of tafseer. If a person wanted to study Inheritance, they would not have to study Hadeeth, and so on.

How Do I Start?

To start this journey, just click on the picture on the right and choose the units you wish to study. Please Note, in order to book lessons, or view your booking options, you have to have at least completed or booked the units necessary for that unit. If for example one wanted to view the available lessons for Arabic Level 4, they have to have completed or booked Arabic Level 3, otherwise, all they will see is the unit details, and the course structure of Arabic Level 4 and not the available lessons.

What happens if one has studied before?

To ‘skip’ units one must prove that they achieved the desired level via an exam. If one has studied with us before, then there is no need for an assessment test, and your level will be determined by the last exam you took with us. So all you would do is register, and add in the ‘comments’ box below how far you have studied, and we will update your account or forward you the necessary assessment exam.
